General Info

SMITE is a third person MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) developed and published by Hi-Rez Studios for Windows. What is SMITE? In Smite, players take on the form of a mythological god and take part in arena combat, using powers and team tactics against other player-controlled gods and non-player controlled minions. Smite has the basic concept as any other MOBA in the market.

What is a MOBA?

MOBA in short is Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, where you pick a character (each having their own abilities and specials) and face other players like yourself under the defense of minions and towers.

You generally have to push other players back into their base by using your powers and with the help of your minions. Unlike other MOBA’s you move thru by using your keyboard rather than clicking-mouse. And your camera angle is in third person view, which surely is a HUGE difference than you think it might be.

Items and Gods

Currently the items are balanced to a certain extent, but these Gods might need a little tweaking here and there. There are 53 gods from seven different pantheons, Chinese, Hindu, Greek, Roman, Mayan, Egyptian, and Norse which is pretty cool!

Visual presentation

Never seen any other free to play game as beautiful as SMITE, the textures are really just, makes me cry out of happiness. The art work is simply incredible. (though it might be the case I have no experience in F2P’s)

A Trick question, is this game any different than other MOBA’S out there?

The gameplay basically turns out to be like any other MOBA as you’ve already expected, but it’s actually a bit more complex than you think.

The third person perspective makes a huge difference compared to any other MOBA out there. Also the gameplay style is fast paced than any other MOBA (by my experience) for this sole reason I think this game excels in its genre.

What I Hated!

• Bits of Balancing
• Sometimes my attacks glitch through enemies, which further led me to lose some solo battles against other players
• Too many mages?
• Many start up glitches
• I’m literally trying to find for small errors in the game 😀

Positive points of the game

• Great matchmaking system (can get tricky in future though)
• Fast paced
• Third person view
• Idea of Gods
• Constant updates

Hi-Rez have been continuously patching and making the game more balanced. Moreover they’ve been adding new skins and modes which is also pretty cool. And for your information, I have clocked more than 50hrs and I can approve that “This game is AWESOME!”

Man! seriously this game is pretty sick for a free to play, never seen a beautiful one with this much potential. I guess i have to play more Free to plays before i come onto an conclusion.
